(Buddhist Monk 6 1/2 minutes)

When you look at the beauty around you, how can you not be amazed by each little thing that you see as you pass by? How can you not be amazed at the delicacy of the flower that grows between the cracks in the pavement? How can you not be amazed by the song that the birds sing first thing in the morning, or by the beautiful blue sky in the summer, or the fields of golden corn and grain? How can you cease to be amazed? Each of you rush through your daily lives without a thought for such things. It is rarely that you notice such things and it is even more rare for you to stop to appreciate them. Take time out of your daily lives to notice the little things and the big things will follow. The big things that you consider to be more important will follow. For if you can appreciate the riches of the natural world, then you have truly found the riches of the world in which you live. All too often people hurry from place to place, from job to job, and the days pass by, and the months pass by, and the years pass by and then suddenly 10 years have passed - 20, and so much has passed you by in that time. You cannot begin to appreciate how much you have missed. It is as though you are all walking around blindfolded. Now is the time to take the blindfold off - see with your eyes open. Listen with your heart open and your ears open, but your mouths closed and you will find some of the wonders and some of the beauty that you have previously missed. This life is but a drop in the ocean and when you return to spirit it should be having had the full experience that life has to offer. So take in the natural world, but also take the time to take in the people around you - for they need you as much as you need them. You are all to live and work together and if you take the time to notice one another, to be there for one another and to listen to one another, then you will find that life is perhaps a little easier for everyone. Dream your dreams, live your dreams, take notice of your dreams because it is your inner self trying to speak to you - either to warn you or to help you. It is important. Notice the way animals behave around each other. There are the predators and there are the hunted, but each of them has their own purpose and so the natural cycles of life follow on. Take the time to notice - be guided by it, and you will notice that when you stop to look, you do not waste time, but you do instead gain a little time and a lot of peace of mind just by stopping occasionally to notice the flower that grows in the crack in the pavement.
