Sit Still and Listen

Mountain Peak

Sit still and listen to the beating of your heart.

Sit still... and wait...

Be calm, and force your worries to depart,

Be calm... and wait...

Close eyes and ears, to flee the world you know,

And dream...

Dream of a mountain, high and clear,

The air so fresh... the sky so near.

Far, far below, like wisps of smoke,

Realities are but a joke.

Feel golden sunlight on your face,

Melting tenseness into grace,

Breathe deeply... savouring the scent

A hundred flowers for your meant.

Now, kneel and cup your hands, to take

The silver water from a stream...

And, cleansed and freshened thus, you wake

And smile as you recall your dream.
