As once again half the globe finds itself progressing towards the longer, darker days of the winter, and half towards the long, warm days of their summer, we find that once again change is upon us. Those finding their days shorter may view the impending winter with a sense of regret, looking back to the brighter days of light. Yet this should not be. It is natural to look to the light - all living things focus on and are attracted by light. Without it there would be no life. Equally though, without seasons of dark there would be no time to rest and recuperate, for your spirit to contemplate the journey so far and to take stock of all that has gone before - and the path ahead. In time, the lighter, longer days return, bringing new focuses and new challenges, bringing light to many situations. Now is an important time of preparation and this time of year should not be seen as a time of decay as the trees, plants and animals shut down and withdraw for the winter, but instead a time of preparation for renewal once the spring arrives. Instead of withholding and attempting to return to summer days it is better to embrace the sleepiness of winter and follow nature, for we are all a part of nature and nature guides us. It is by taking this time of resolution that we may encounter difficulties but this is a time of cleansing - these difficulties and troubles may be underlying and waiting to be brought to the surface. As we withdraw in the wintertime, whether we are aware of the natural spirit within us doing so or not, these trials and hurdles that are causing us difficulty are pushed to the fore. If we rush into this time with dread or creep into it with sadness in our hearts then we will have more difficulty rather than less and peace will be harder to find. Better by far to allow the season to draw and lead, for gently all things are undone that should not have been done - past regrets may be disposed of and burdens off-loaded in this great time of re-organisation. Then, less sullied and with little or no weight to hold us back and tie us down we can step into the new life of Spring and walk our pathways with greater ease. So instead of viewing the forthcoming days as a time of dank darkness and depression, see instead the building blocks and resting time that awaits in order to prepare for the next exciting stage of your journey and your adventure. Do not run away; do not fear it for within the darkness of winter is the light of freedom and free progression.

'Til we meet again...
