We see each of you as you regard yourselves and others, looking at appearances - the outward appearance - and we watch as you weigh up and judge your fellow man on what you can see before you. It strikes us that you all place a great deal of importance - to a greater or lesser degree - on your appearance. You care deeply about what your physical body looks like and how others will perceive the way it looks. There is always something about your physical bodies about which you are unhappy. Many go to great lengths to use modern medical science to trim a bit off here, tuck a bit in there. This of course is your decision as you have the free will to do as you please, and the decisions that you make are important for your life path and plans. However, we feel that it is a great shame that so much emphasis is placed on physical appearance and what you would consider to be physical beauty, for it is all superficial. You are with your current physical body for but a blink of an eye and too much worry about your physical appearance merely wastes the time that you have with it to achieve what you would wish to achieve as your spiritual self. It is the spiritual self that is in need of such nurturing and care; yet it is the spiritual self that is so often ignored - often in favour of the physical. We do not care what your physical self looks like - it is irrelevant and merely serves as a 'mode of transport' for the spirit and the part of the soul that is in the here and now. You will still grow old, perhaps falling to illness before old age, but the inevitable is that this body that you preen and pluck to optimum satisfaction will still be discarded when you return to us in spirit - and once you do you are without form; without physical appearance. The important thing is that your inner self is as beautiful as it can possibly be. This is not achieved in any cosmetic way but in living the life that you are here to live to the best of your ability, without living at the expense of others. Compassion; love; acceptance and open-heartedness for all and at all times; nurturing of your spirit and respect for the souls around you in all things; looking to the lighter side of life and bringing with you all these things with joy and upliftment. These are the ways to find true beauty and once you have done so - once these things are achieved - then the outward, physical appearance becomes far less important and you are able to see beyond it to that which you should be seeing. It is not as difficult as you think for a good way to begin is by letting go of vanity. Once vanity has gone it is easier to find the qualities necessary to let the beauty already within you shine out for all to see. We are aware that a certain amount of grooming is necessary and that cleanliness is important to keep your physical bodies functioning as they should in order to achieve your purpose and it is not these basics to which we refer. We are concerned merely with the obsession for the 'perfect shape' and 'perfect beauty' which seems to have become increasingly important to you as time moves on. Many souls have returned to us at a young physical age in a lifetime because of the importance on Earth of physical appearance and the unwillingness to accept those that you perceive to be of poor appearance. It saddens us that this is so. We can see the beauty within each of you and it is radiant. If you would open your eyes to see beyond the physical, and more obvious, appearance in front of you or in the mirror, you would see the beauty within too. Look beyond the physical and withhold judgement to acknowledge that beauty, and the physical will become more beautiful by perception too - for you will be radiating the inner beauty outwardly and drawing the inner beauty to the fore in those around you.
'Til we meet again...
