When we hold a dream dear to our hearts and hold it there, does it fade away after a time of not being acknowledged, not being strived for? The answer to this is that a dream kept alive by actively striving for it, holding it up like a beacon to follow and working towards it, is a dream that will be all the stronger for that sense of purpose. If it is a dream that is right for that time then it will be as if a whole team and series of events are working solely for its completion and realisation. Other dreams may never reach reality - perhaps they were unrealistic to begin with, perhaps the time or the circumstances were not right. This makes them no less worthy than those where attainment is possible - for the sense of purpose, sense of propulsion, sense of destiny that they generate is positive. The focus helps to provide part of the life's spark that brings life, hope and a sense of being. No dream is therefore ever wasted. Those dreams that are held close to the heart and gradually fade to the background are not wasted either, for in the dreaming the thought was made and an energy created. That energy has sone out and its light still remains, though temporarily muted by being 'forgotten'. Some dreams were always intended and destined to be a brief flash of light, perhaps to light the darkness that the person concerned found themselves in, and which was only temporary. These dreams help to give lift over difficulties and once those difficulties are overcome and that light and energy are no longer needed, are put to one side. Other dreams apparently 'forgotten' are merely lying dormant - some have surfaced prematurely and will return at a later time. Some may have surfaced to act as a signpost to guide the way and once the direction has been taken, will fade away, perhaps coming back to the fore later. No dream fades away entirely and without purpose - none are wasted or of no use. Our dreams are our guiding force and our creative drive. They make us who we are, who we have been and who we will become. Dreams provide the paving for our life's pathways and our spiritual destinies. They can be far-seeing or short-sighted, generous or self absorbed. Each will govern the next chapter or phase in our spiritual journey for as we reach towards our dreams we reach into the future. Our dreams define 'us' and our relationships, our place within all that is or ever will be. As we hold our dreams close to our hearts, it is vital that these dreams do not close our hearts. Choose carefully, choose wisely, for to take some dreams to our hearts could be damaging. It is within all of us to judge those dreams that belong, that have a place. For dreams kept close to our hearts never fade away entirely. Wear that mark well.
'Til we meet again...
