| The Inner Garden by Linda Fallen |
| We
are slaves to worry and apprehension Earth's mud clinging to every fear Doubts put chains on our hands and feet Yet certainty whispers to the faithful ear |
| Shackles
are easily broken Yet chains seem to be worn with pride Seen as bracelets of adornment Restraining not when peace and war collide |
| Hard
and cold, fighting for blood and gold Love reigns not in the warrior's heart The inner battle has no respite When opposing sides play their part |
| And
yet there is a garden A place where Love resides A stillness that waits for tomorrow For the moment when you decide |
| No
longer resisting the inevitable Because you have looked around every corner No stone has been left unturned You have been the joyous pilgrim and the sorrowful mourner |
| The world holds
little satisfaction Without a Peace within A changing, uncertain future A world obsessed with sin |
| When you find
your inner garden Clear out the dead wood and the weeds Till the soil with loving kindness And with compassion plant your seeds |
| Let sweet scented
flowers germinate And their perfume be known to all Plant bulbs of faith that reach up to the light And let vines of love grow tall |
| The Trees of
Truth and Knowledge Will branch out and bear their own fruit Recognise your need for a Master And let the Promise of His Presence take root |
| Draw away each
day with the Gardener With the Saviour on whom you can depend He who adores your imperfections He who gave you Life without end |
