Poems by Linda Fallen

I STILL LIVE

I still live, but not like you

See a picture of my face

Withdrawn from the only world I knew

But still part of the human race.

I still live, I did not die

Only organic matter fell

Revealed from behind the human mask

In a world of thought I dwell.

I still live and so will you

When you leave your overcoat behind

In a new state of consciousness

A different awareness of your mind.

I still live, there is no choice

Regardless of my belief

Think of the abundant life I have

Don’t feel sad and give way to grief

I still live, embraced by Everlasting Arms

Life goes on, in this you trust

Though my body is now as ashes

Returned to original dust

We can build a new relationship

One that’s not immersed in matter

A love to fill your empty heart

A love that even time cannot shatter.

AS YOU LEAVE

Walk away from this world

Into the one that’s very near

Go with faith and confidence

It’s alright to leave me here

The transition is very simple

You have done it all before

Close your eyes in expectation

And open the other door

Don’t be apprehensive

You will see the Promised Land

There are those in Spirit who love you

Who are waiting to take your hand

The two worlds are so close

Really just a whisper away

Brush near me as you leave me

We’ll be together again one day

Go onwards before me

And make a home for two

Trust in the Master, Jesus

Who will journey home with you

I shall miss your familiar face

But love can never die

Two eternal spirits

Who cannot say goodbye.

STAND INSIDE THE RAINBOW

Fear holds us to ransom

And it bears a heavy cost

It causes isolation

And then we feel quite lost

It’s in the grip of worry

That darkness can unfold

It feeds on desperation

And puts our life on hold

Take the gift of love

And wrap it up in pink

The colour of compassion

Is deeper than you think

Take the gift of healing

And wrap it up in blue

The colour of serenity

A chance to start anew

Take the gift of peace

And wrap it up in white

A symbol of perfection

Seen in a flash of light

Take the gift of faith

And wrap it up in gold

A treasure that lies within

That can’t be bought or sold

Take the gift of life

And wrap it up in red

Stretching into eternity

With all that’s thought and said

Stand inside the rainbow

When all around is pain

The healing rays of colour

Refracted in the rain

BRIDGE OF LOVE

We are all pursuing something

And we’re not sure where to look

We seek the wisest prophets

Sometimes from a book

If the truth is set inside us

It’s something hard to see

Our Brother Jesus told us

It alone can set us free

Perhaps we try too hard

And fight against the flow

Asking maybe too much

That may not be ours to know

If we find it very difficult

To cope with what has been

How can we hope to link with

A world as yet, unseen

Is that the real test?

Not if we win or lose

But the way that we find courage

When it’s hard for us to choose

Peel away the layers

Reveal the hidden self

Do all you need to do

Dig out your buried wealth

In the turmoil of emotions, with joy we often cry

Have no sad thoughts for tomorrow, now yesterday’s tears are dry

We’ve alot to be thankful for, don’t have a blinkered view

Open up your mind, and your heart will open too.

Love is never wasted, it’s energy cannot fade

Blown on the winds of kindness

To fulfil a promise made

Here I stand before you, as we share a bridge of love

A chance for some upliftment, and blessings from above

Polish up your spirit, until you make it shine

Know that we’re not separate

Because we are all divine.

IN THE HANDS OF SPIRIT

I can’t create a mountain, or catch the setting sun

Or stop the snow from melting when Springtime has begun

I can’t produce an acorn, hold moonlight in my hand

Or stop the rivers rising and flooding all the land

I cannot form a crystal, I can’t turn back the clock

I cannot make a seashell or the diamonds in a rock

I can’t prevent an earthquake, hold back the breaking dawn

Or see a far off galaxy, or a new star being born

Can’t stop people fighting in a place so far away

Or stop the children starving, or make a rainbow stay

I can’t design a valley, or still a stormy sky

I can’t do very much it seems, a mortal such as I

I can only sit and wonder, why we are really here

The people gone before us, who must have shed a tear

So many puzzling questions, I sometimes feel quite tired

Then suddenly in the silence, I feel I’ve been inspired

It’s in the hands of spirit

It has been from the start

In the quiet meditation, in the stillness of my heart

LIKE A RAINDROP

(Inspired by a book about Reincarnation.)

Like a raindrop in a puddle

Evaporated by the heat

Race across the sky

With the clouds that you meet

When you are ready

It’s something you will know

You will rise up again

And fall down as snow

As you sit in the ice

You will turn into steam

That same little raindrop

Who continues to dream

In the seasons of life

In the cycle of the storm

Still that same raindrop

Expressed in another form

That dear little raindrop

Then flowed to the lake

That sweet tiny raindrop

Was finally awake.

DON’T RUSH

You have eternity in front of you

And it’s also close behind

Don’t rush the spiritual pathway

When there’s much for you to find

You don’t have to be led by others

You already know the way

All your thoughts and feelings

Are the lessons of the day

You were the first breath of life

You will also be the last

You were the Ancient Wise Ones

In the echoes of the past

Search for simple values

As you find the pot of gold

The Source of all that is

Will help you to unfold

You are your own Captain

You are standing at the helm

Let Spirit steer your rudder

From the purest Highest Realm

MIRROR OF THE SOUL

You are more than this feeble frame

More than your heart beat

More than those eyes and ears

More than your hands and feet

Close your eyes and listen

To the whispers of the past

The secrets of the ages

Are coming through at last

You are a natural diamond

That’s mined out of the ground

When cut and finely polished

Your facets will be found

As you gaze upon humanity

Brothers and sisters in the flesh

See beyond the masks you wear

And look with eyes afresh

The faults you see in others

Are really all your own

Sometimes we’re spiritually naked

And we feel so very alone

As you learn to love yourself

You will love each other too

Then the Mirror of the Soul

Will only reflect you

“DREAMCATCHER”

(Dedicated to all the North American Indians, for their simple truths and perfect faith.)

We didn’t have a religion, just a natural way to live

Co-operating with Mother Nature, and learning how to give

We respected all the animals, as we had to kill to eat

Some wore a single feather and we had moccasins on our feet

We listened to the elders, like the wise one Silver Birch

We had all that which we needed, and we didn’t need a church

We chanted out the rhythm, as we beat the drums of war

When they tried to trap us, we just couldn’t take any more

As they brought us to our knees, they thought that they had won

But they couldn’t break our spirit, they might aswell have tried to catch the sun.

Not the flight of the eagle, or the power of the bear

Could prevent our lives from changing, or make the white man even care

In our waterfall of knowledge, on the mountain by the stream

Our beliefs were very simple, and they could never kill that dream

We didn’t call it Heaven, but we knew what we had found

United with the Spirit, in our Happy Hunting Ground.

MEDITATION ON LIGHT

The colours of the spectrum, contained in pure white

The simple Laws of Nature, are tested in the light

The Light that sparked Creation, the Light that holds us near

The Light that calls us homeward, The Light that makes things clear

The Light that grows much brighter, as it helps us all to thrive

The Light that shows compassion, ensuring we survive

The Light that casts no shadows, as it rises deep inside

The Light that sees a part of us, we sometimes wish to hide

It’s not a question of religion, of colour or of creed

But a natural progression, of a simple human need

The Light that reigns eternal, in the shining of the sun

The Light that shows the pathways, of the journeys we’ve begun

When the journey is over, and we finally depart

The Light will take us home again, as it merges in the Heart

IN YOUR TEMPLE

Why do we get worried, when there’s nothing we should fear

Have we not learnt anything, in the time that we’ve been here

We are all so very different, and yet we’re more the same

Celebrate your true nature, look to no-one else to blame

When we’re at our lowest, we can only rise up high

If we didn’t have a contrast, we wouldn’t question why?

At the edge of the abyss, it’s easy to fall

Or fly like a bird, and embrace it all

With every generation, there’s a few that see the light

Casting seeds of wisdom, that eclipse the darkest night

Like a stone thrown into water, there’s a ripple that can spread

Then on a love vibration, each Spirit can be fed

In the Temple of your Body, the only place you need

This vehicle that carries you, follow where God may lead

When the flesh has gone, from this your sacred place

Go onward into Love, to that Eternal, Timeless place

GIVING AND RECEIVING

There are lots and lots of gifts to give, and many lie within

At times when there is trouble, we don’t know where to begin

Some can lay their hands on, some can give a smile

But we can all make the effort, to spend a little while

Just talk our maybe listen, taking time to care

Making that connection, so the pain is easier to bear

In this age of turbulence, whatever you like to believe

The more you give yourself away, the more you can receive
